IndiGo, Digi Yatra and Bangalore International Airport Limited Successfully Conduct Technical Trials of Contactless International Travel Project with IATA

Ludhiana, April 09, 2026 (News Team): IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, in partnership with Digi Yatra Foundation, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), and International Air Transport Association (IATA), successfully demonstrated integrated international travel flow from ticketing, managing bookings to seamless, biometric-enabled journey in technical trials at the Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport). This first-of-its-kind initiative in India was part of IATA’s global campaign of conducting Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs) for International Contactless travel journeys in key markets across the globe.

Earlier this year, IndiGo and Digi Yatra Foundation had successfully implemented cutting-edge Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) based ecosystem utilising biometric technology for contactless passenger processing at airports and an app-to-app integration enabling seamless sharing of boarding passes between their-mobile applications. Building on the successful model, IndiGo and Digi Yatra Foundation, in association with BIAL, have demonstrated the viability and scalability of this technology to enable international travel. This marks a significant step towards fullscale deployment and ushers in the next phase of digital travel.

IndiGo Strengthens Connectivity to and from Navi Mumbai and Gujarat

The new Kushaq 1.0 TSI

This SUV produces 85 kW of power and 178 Nm of torque from its turbocharged engine. The new Kushaq 1.5 TSI
For customers seeking higher performance, the 1.5 TSI delivers 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque and is paired exclusively with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. With the new Kushaq, the 1.5 TSI comes with disc brakes on all four wheels with the Monte Carlo getting radiant-looking red brake callipers. The 1.5 TSI DSG delivers a fuel efficiency of 18.72 km/l – ARAI. With its Active Cylinder Technology that shuts two cylinders at cruising mode, the 1.5 TSI is a technological tour de force. Emergency rooms frequently see cases of eye irritation, corneal abrasions, conjunctivitis, rashes, acne flare-ups and even blunt trauma linked to synthetic colours, contaminated water and balloon injuries. Many commercially available colours now contain industrial dyes, heavy metals, mica and chemical pigments that can irritate the delicate surface of the eyes and disrupt the skin barrier. Fine particles may lodge under the eyelids, while wet colours that remain on the skin, and harsh scrubbing to remove them, can trigger inflammation and secondary bacterial or fungal infections.

“Holi-related eye injuries are largely preventable, and when they do occur, outcomes depend heavily on how quickly they are addressed. In ocular emergencies, the first hour can be critical. Prompt irrigation and early consultation can prevent long-term damage,” says Dr. Parveen Rani, Associate Consultant Ophthalmology, Fortis Ludhiana.

UK eVisa rollout to transform visa application experience and provide greater flexibility for overseas travel plans

Jalandhar, February 27, 2026 (News Team): UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is introducing a major upgrade to its visa application process with the continued rollout of eVisas. From 25 February 2026, most UK visa customers will benefit from this digital transformation.

The eVisa system replaces traditional visa vignette stickers in passports, meaning customers will no longer need to part with their passport while a decision is being made on their application. It also means customers will only need to visit the Visa Application Centre once to confirm their identity and submit documents if required. This innovation provides travellers greater flexibility for international travel plans.

“Over 10 million people are already using secure and convenient eVisas, which are replacing physical immigration status documents such as biometric residence permits (BRPs) and visa vignette stickers in passports. We are now in the final phases of implementation, with eVisas becoming the default evidence of status for most immigration routes to the UK,” said UK Visas and Immigration.

“The move to eVisas will significantly enhance the customer process for travellers, providing them the ease and flexibility of retaining their passports, allowing for applications to other countries in the interim.
